Topics of lectures

The new offer for the “2009 Year of Truth” includes issues, which are being prepared in various different formats. They include single, inspiring and motivating lectures or crisis interventions; a series of seminars and trainings; long-term projects for implementing new solutions in the values field; balanced leadership and development; change management and building team morale as well as company culture for the good and bad times.

I.    How to regain balance?

Why did the world of business and finance lose its balance? What should be done in order to recover it and how to survive the year of truth on the local scale: one’s own company, personal career path?

  • “Cash is the King – the Rest is Romance?” Original lecture of Prof. Krzysztof Obłoj (Kozminski University, MBA University of Illinois)
  • “How to regain balance?” Interactive lecture. Based on the book: “ENOUGH – True measures of Money, Business and Life” by John C. Bogle. Jacek Santorski, Witold Gotowski (MBA) – Values
  • “Self-confidence. Trust and cooperation in difficult times – on the point of contact of game theory and business psychology” Prof. Robert Rządca (Kozminski University) and Jacek Santorski. Interactive lecture.

II.    Leadership for the difficult and the good times.

  • “Simple rules for running an effective company / team in all kinds of conditions” Selected elements of “5th level” leadership (based on the book: “Good to Great” and the most recent publication of Jim Collins), comprehensive, balanced leadership (based on book: “Versatile Leader” by Bob Kaplan) and “psychologically enlightened absolutism” (IPB original approach), Jacek Santorski and partners.
  • “Not to run out of steam – Energy management in a modern organisation” Visiting Professor: Prof. Heike Bruch (St. Gallen University) and partners from the consulting company Energy Factory (www.energyfactory.com).
  • “Healthy families – healthy companies. How to maintain the balance between personal life and professional life based on universal life competences”. Jacek Santorski (original lecture/workshop based on author’s book: “Miłość i praca” [Love and work]).

III.    Leader’s effectiveness and team energy in the face of creative, extreme challenges.

  • “Resilience Training”: Resistance to changes and stress at work – and to the loss of work. Tomasz Jamroziak.

IV.    Business relations and communication.

  • “Tell me, do you love me? Transaction and relation in modern sales.” Dariusz Duma on the basis of experience in using a unique Chiltern Consultancy sales model.
  • “Ethical persuasion: The art of adjustment, the power of metaphor – inspiring stories and other means of ethical persuasion: from a good business conversation to managers’ passionate speeches”. Lecture, workshop, coaching. Jacek Santorski and Krzysztof Klajs (the Polish Ericksonian Institute).
  • “Keys to people: Influence individualisation and relations management.” Jacek Santorski – his own approach to the Oldham i Morris Psychological Selfportrait© model. Autodiagnostic questionnaire as part of the workshops.
  • “Countermanipulations: Self-assurance, business aikido and other techniques.” Jacek Santorski, Tomasz Jamroziak.
  • “Communication inside a company: What, apart from the gossip factory, actually works?” Jacek Santorski, Tomasz Jamroziak.
  • “The art of rhetoric – with effect and class”. Professor Jerzy Bralczyk (optionally a “Speakers' training,” conducted by professor Jerzy Bralczyk and Jacek Santorski).
  • “How to convey the essence when we act in stress or under pressure, how to reach different recipients with the same message?” Simple methods for advanced specialists and managers – theory and practice, training courses on effective communication and presentation, important speeches. V.    The art of life (resistance to stress).

  • “Guidelines for good and bad times.” Jacek Santorski inspired by Max Ehrmann’s famous Desiderata. Simple personal inspirations for parents and managers. The lecture/workshop will include an introduction to the practice of mindfulness.
  • “Big Mind.” On a special request, Jacek Santorski invites Dennis Merzel Genpo, his zen master, from the USA to give a presentation on the method of transferring internal integration, peace of mind and strength of spirit to a higher level, which is considered most effective for the people of the West, in the form of an intensive workshop.
  • “8-0”: Good life – How to live in a healthy and decent way?  Wojciech Eichelberger’s authorship programme

VI.    Values in acting.

  • “Vision, mission and values – in business and in personal life. When will they become the source of power and authentic strategic advantage?” Based on books Built to Last by Jim Collins, ENOUGH – True measures of Money, Business and Life by John C. Bogle and The Sustainable Values by Chris Laszlo. Optionally: lectures, workshops, implementation programme. Conducted by: Dominika Kulczyk-Lubomirska and Jacek Santorski with partners (Witold Gotowski, Jacek Dymowski, Tomasz Jamroziak, Katarzyna Miastkowska-Wujec).
  • “How to talk to employees when life hurts?” Contact, trust and negotiations in difficult company situations. Jacek Santorski, Tomasz Jamroziak.
  • “Consumer comes second – HR for hard times.” How to communicate the strategy of surviving the crisis to employees. How to build morality and maintain authentic connection with the team despite stress, distrust and fatigue. M. Rosenbluth’s model (Consumer Comes Second) in the reality of Polish companies.
